Have a transit connect at the minute, selling it and off to the auctions tommorrow, the list im viewing is, a few transits, a few vivaros, a few dispatches and a few transporters.

Do any of you have these vans and what do you think about them??

Thanks.

Had transits for years when I was in building game - switched to a Vivaro last year been a good motor all round only thing lacks a bit of length on swb, diagonal if you want to put 8ft sheets in :(

I've got a vivaro...... (This week, as another lad is on holiday)

It's really nice to drive, I'd forgotten how I love being up high, and to drive a van that actually moves when you press the accelerator.

I still think my Gloria Escort Van has better seats as they're quite sporty and support you when going round corners (on two wheels!).

Anyway got all me gear in and a load of stock on the shelves...

Oh.... and the roof don't leak!!! which is always a bonus...

if your looking for a home for gloria I may be interested in a wee project for when I get my shed moved lol

lolol

The missus is actually using it this week as she blew the turbo up on her car...... and I think I stopped the leak with the old silicone.

I have noticed people don't pull out in front of you when driving a bigger van... I'm always getting people pull out when driving the Gloria, glad it's got good brakes!

I've got a 2007 Vivaro - its a great van, drives like a car, looks good and IMO more roomy than a transit. They don't rust like the fords / mercs. Buy the 2.0 version - I was told by an ex AA man that they have stronger gearboxes than the 1.9.

All vans have common faults - just don't look them up on the net or you'll never buy any van.

Good luck

got a transporter, 2 litre 140ps, it goes really well....

but I guess at auction you'd be looking at a 1.9 or a 2.5
the 2.5s are really torquey but can be thirsty,
and the 1.9s are alot more frugal, but there have been problems with the dual mass flywheel I believe
that sounds like they are terrible, but they are a really nice drive, and the t5gp is even nicer, but as said, a bit more money....

I have heard of a few 115 transits seizing, and a the 140s put oil in the intercooler

lad with a primastar only had problem with dealers and was pretty happy with his,

and I had an expert (same as dispatch) but they eventually fall apart like all french vehicles.... the paint falls off, the electrics break... but they just keep running..

I got fed up and bought something with loads and loads of warranty... but good luck

Had lots of vans over the years transits are rubbish on fuel and rot, best vans are vivaro/trafic had both ,treat them well and they are very reliable dont rot and excellent on fuel, out of the two I would buy the vauxhall the main dealers dont have your pants down as much as renault dealers!!

What were you getting fuel wise?

The renault traffic, and its rebranded cusins all seem to have horriffic tales of woe, involving badly designed gear boxs costing thousands to repair, they do look nice tho.

I Have a 2006 VW Transporter T5 LWB 2.5 130ps which has just done 90k miles and it has cost me a fortune since the warranty ran out.
1st of all the water pump broke, this is oil cooled so it puts that mayonaise stuff on your oil cap making it look like your head gasket has gone: Cost £ 850
Then the twin mast fly wheel broke which are now all made in china makes is impossible to drive it: Cost £ 1250
Now the camshaft has snapped in half smashing the head to bits, its in the garrage as I type: Cost £ 2500 +
Plus I have had two drive shafts due to them popping out the gearbox at diffrent times: Cost: £ 1000
:banghead:
These are all apparantly common faults that VW know about and would have done if thay had gone under warranty!

I had a Vauxhall Vivaro before which had a new gearbox done under warranty even when it was just out of warranty because vauxhall accepted it was a known fault.

Im buying another vivaro next as they are a good van at a good price:)
