I had what I thought to be the written part of my 302 exam today. I say thought, because it seemed too simple and browsing the internet/smartscreen it seems it may not have been the wirtten part?

3 questions. List of tools/equipment needed for the practical. Sequence of test & brief description. Safe isolation precedure.

Surely that isn't the written part of the 302? Why would I have bothered learning about conduit factors, trunking, cable grouping, ambient temperature etc for that not to come up? We were told there was a chance the adibiatic equation would come up, but not even a sniff of that.

Tutor kept talking about this is easy, if you get a distinction then come test day you're straight on the rigs, get a credit & the examiner will talk it over with you and once you give the right answer you'll be on the rigs, etc.

Was this just a planning exam or is this the actual written part of the 302?

Thanks.

Is that not the written part of the exam then? It's been implied that once the practical is over then that's that for the 302! No mention whatsoever of another exam, everyone had been revising like mad thinking it was going to be difficult.

I wonder when the written fits in then?

iF YOU STARTED COARSE IN SEPTEMBER WOULD DEF SAY ITS A PLANNING EXAM!!!:)

It is definatly not the final written exam mate, The final exam is 16 questions in 2 hours,on planning, safe working practice and inspection and testing

Thanks LJC & Llandrillo.

I went into it thinking it was the 302 written exam - that's what it's been described as in class.

Oh well, more panic & revision later on in the year!

Thanks.

If you did start in september and it is a college its likely you'll have your planning exams just before your practicals- usually june/july!!!!!!!!!

good luck:)

Started in September yes. Have the practical in a few weeks time (2 or 3 I think). Haven't even started on the 303 yet! I can only presume the 302 written will be later in the year. Who knows, I'm only a student why would I be informed?!:D

Thanks.
