Hi all.

Hope someone can help me.
Im a self employed electrician and I have been asked by another compnay to install Thermostats when they fit new boilers in this green deal that is knocking around.
Just wanted to know what type of test & cert I would have to do to cover this as they are keen to have one.
Any help will be great. Thanks

What do you think should be done?
Are you installing fixed wiring?
Then R2, Insulation, loop and RCD would be a minimum.
MWC will suffice if no new circuit or change of circuit breaker.
But, being an electrician, surely you knew that anyway?

If it's anything like the green deal company that installed my boiler, the procedure goes something like this:

Rip out electrics in old cylinder cupboard as part of converting from Y plan to combi system.
Connect through unused cables in a JB and ---- it under the floorboards
Feed wireless stat receiver unit using scabby old FCU from said cupboard
Complete MWC having never asked to see the intake or CU, complete with fabricated IR values.
Leave copy of cert with client
4 weeks later send on mysterious duplicate copy of cert with amended values.

Job done !
