i am new ish to solar panels had just a yr now when i got them fitted thought jan feb last yr was ok as made about 95 units per month but come dec (2012) early jan (2013)was lucky to make 25 per month is this bad or is it normal as in the last two days i have made 23 units alone and today is sunny blue sky i checked it two hour ago (11.29am) and have all ready made 3 units since sun has been out so its working fine, just wanted to know if dec jan can be crap months for us last year i got £1.237 back from my panels plus what i saved on my leccy bill which has halfed and last year was a crap summer

It sounds like you are doing ok. Your panels won't have generated much - if anything - if they were covered in snow. My own system in Yorkshire was 37% above prediction in December 2012 but 41% down for January 2013. This month has started well.

February was exceptional last year, no-where near average, and march was astonishing - some people generated more in march than august.

Yeah, March last year was an anomaly. As was April the year before.

I totted mine up yesterday - my first quarter of production last year (July to October) was just shy of 600kWh, over winter this dropped to 153kWh for the quarter.
2.5kWp system, SE facing roof with some shading issues which now the sun is getting higher in the sky are less of a problem as the sun is over the tree causing the shade.
