    Basically though The 40 amp MCB would not protect a 1.5 mm flex and would require a fused spur to protect against short circuit. As you said overload should be ok. It's the 1.5 flex cable that comes with oven I'm concerned about

    I have a double oven connection unit. Fed with 4mm cable,40 amp MCB. Hob connected to it with 4mm cable. Bought new oven,stated 16 amp but with 1.5 flex from the oven.
