I have been told that in order to issue a Boletin the Consumer Unit and the Meeter cupboard both need to meet certain requirements. Can anybody say what these are please.
The local branch of SSEPD are saying that BNOs have to be licenced. Has anybody heard of this previously and if so who issues the licence. ie who do i phone.
Yes that's what I thought initially but when I thought about it it does create problems. Where there are lighting cable drops it will be through both sets of plasterboard and will breach not only the soundproofing but also the fire barrier (yes I know about the 74mm2 rule).
AS a secondary...
The flats we will be working on will have a ceiling construction of easy joists below which will be noise reducing metal suspension bars, double plaster boards, another layer of noise reduction bars and a final layer of plasterboard. The gap between the plasterboards is expected to be 35mm.

HI, Thanks everybody for your responces. Yes I did get the terminology wrong, after the meter it is of course an isolator.
Following this thread I did followup the references particularly G87 and it has helped considerably. I also spoke to the DNO (not that much use) but one thing came to...

My understanding is that any NEW work, which would include this, was required to comply with Current Regs. The regs only require that cable burried in walls etc be protected by an RCD, specifically surface wireing is not required to be RCD protected. so will there be any new wire passing...
Of course I have come across Type 2 MCBs in old installations but trying to buy replacements has never been easy. Does anybody still use these on new installations?
