18th Edition EXAM UPDATE REQUIRED

From my own minimal research on the matter, the 18th comes out on July 2nd, but doesn't come into effect until 18 months later. That's January 2020.
You've got plenty time to get the qualification.

Theres a whole new section 8 been added. That's hardly a "minor" change.

It is not mandatory... but certainly advantageous to have.

The 18th Edition, are due to be published in July 2018 with the regulations coming into full effect in January 2019.

I've done some research on costs. If your lined up for a 3 day course, it's £395-495 inc vat, £127 for a boxset of books and God knows how much else on GN's.

They can shove it where the sun don't shine. I'm orff to work for B&Q selling CU's to the DIY'ers. Make a killing with all those AFDD's.

Ha - my review is in Sept so I'll be promising to do it for next year no doubt. But I definitely won't be taking classes for it, I'll do one of the "on line" training things where you just show up for the the exam .

Yeh, I got that wrong. The website said "in 18 months time", but I didn't realise this particular site i was reading hasn't been updated this year at all.
So you've got 6 months.
