'induction'...….. sorry about that!Interesting stuff. That avatar of mine is a 'regulator', controlling the external variable resistance used to enable speed control of a slip ring motor. It's a Howells motor, the same make as in the video, on a printing machine, which requires controlling under load condition. The external resistance negates the inductive reactance (XL) created in inductance motors, thus enabling control as such.
