Remember line,neutral should be close to each other but cpc is normally higher as the resistance is higher

Remember one important fact, the osg figures are based on an ambient temperature of 20 or 30oC I forget which

The colder the temperature the lower the resistance

oh shut up will you , i know damn well the bloody dynamics behind resistance calcs , its just a simple maths practise exercise for someone else

I hope my posts are helpful or I'm wasting my time! Which isn't the first and won't be the last.

I believe you are correct assuming equal sized conductors. In twin and earth you will not have equal size conductors. Do you have access to the on site guide? Or have you been given any info on milli ohm per metre figures? It will be fairly easy to do a few examples uses them figures.

U r helpful. Il have any information :0)!! Im here to learn

Sarz , if you want to be taken serious the answer the questions that have been asked to you in regards to your first post.

Um --- again? Can i just say some of you have been really helpful and i am being held at gunpoint but want to thank onions for explaining it easy thank you

Right, don't think there is any need for any sexist terms when a serious question is asked. If you are suffering from sexual tension, you obviously have access to the net so use that and you hand.

Sarz what sort of stuff are reading, learning and struggling with?

could you list a copy of the books you have so we know what you are reading and if they are any good?

I dint realise you actually gave a serious answer thanks. You can have a serious response. I literally just needed it explaining sometimes reading this bloody jargon gets confusing but it was explained. Im just starting out give me a break people :0)

a 20 mtrs long 2.5mm cable with a 1.5mm cpc ( earth ) , is added to a 15 mtrs long 6mm cable with a 2.5 cpc.

using the values provided at the bottom , calculate

1. the total circuit resistance for the live conductor ?
2. the total cicuit resistance for the cpc ?

6mm = 3.08 milli ohms per mtr
2.5mm = 7.41
1.5mm = 12.1

hints
take your time
use a calculator and notepad ( unless your maths is on par with Dr. stephen hawkings )
break it down into managable sections

i love you that is r helpful genuinely. Obv im stephen hawkings not my maths is being worked on

are you going to bother to attempt or even acknowledge the practice equation i kindly provided , or just stand around arguing with every post someone makes ?

Well over my head but il ask you if it comes up :)

Sarz
Basicly resistance decreases with csa of the conductor eg bigger the csa less the resistance and increases with length.
Think of the conductor as a hosepipe bigger csa quicker water flows so less resistance smaller the csa of hosepipe slower water flows more resistance

Right just to let you all know I am about to wipe out all posts that are off topic. All this sexual banter needs to stop. Have a laugh but keep it clean.
