Discuss Can a bulb trip the fuse in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
The problem could be with the wiring! Relieved to know. It was an led lamp. The fuse is rcbo. The replacement worked just fine, hence suspected the bulb. Since then, the tripping happened again. So I took the bulb out and even without the bulb, when switching on it trips now! But nothing has changed on the wiring. It was new 2 years ago. I inspected the switch and ceiling rose, it's all dry.is it an old fashioned filament lamp?
If it has blown, then continuity will fail.
If its a halogen filament lamp, it may blow spectacularly.
Is your "fuse" an MCB or an RCBO? The RCBO is much more sensitive and will trip if a lamp simply burns out.
