Hi all, im a fully qualified electrician but have a full time maintenance job, i normally have one or two jobs to do for myself or family, usually notifiable work, currently signed on with napit. Im having to pay around 800 a year to keep it all going, seems silly when im only filling out a couple of cerficates... is there any way i can do notifiable work without being registered with a part p company?? Thankyou for reading

no really because you would have to pay via builder control which on 2-3 jobs will work out equally expensive

either way for a part time sparks it’s a rip off scam

NAPIT (and STROMA, but they're pretty much napit now) do a 3rd party certification scheme. Search for members offering the service here, choose Certification of domestic electrical installations (TPC) from the menu:

What you get charged is down to the individual offering the service, but as you're fully qualified it's likely you'll be charged less than joe public, and it's very likely to be less than using BC. I'm not registered and use a 3PC for all my notifiables, works out cheaper than being registered.

Why £800? Napit is £395 + vat (£474), don't know what the others charge.
