You can probably tell, I know nothing, so reply as if talking to a five year old (sweets and pats on head excluded).

I have two heaters from what I can make out. Downstairs a wall mounted non storage heater in our utility room. Upstairs a more conventional electric water boiler with old fashioned orange foam insulation.

I recently had to cut off the water supply to the house whilst fixing a corroded radiator feed. I switched off the electric switch on the upstairs boiler prior to doing so but once everything had been fixed, I tried to switch this back on but the light on the switch stays off.

I have some hot water from our downstairs unit, but this is not as before where we had copious amounts of hot water.

Is it likely that I have somehow tripped something internal with the boiler (Big thing covered in orange foam).

that switch for the boiler is most likely a FCU ( fused connection unit) and will have a fuse next to the switch. usually it's a 3A or a 5A. might have blown. flick carrier out with small driver, or if it's MK, you need to unscrew the samall screw that holds it in.
