Extend T&E Ring in Back Box

I’ve bought some new sockets but due to the terminals being the other way round when compared to the original socket. I’m looking for a way to extend the line as it’s just too short. Absolutely no slack on the cables. I’m quite amazed really as I’ve 10 to swap, some were okay, and the last one. The end of the ring as it has 3 line, 3 neutral and 3 CPC is the shortest out of them. They’ve used a 47mm box too. So I’m a little annoyed.

Any recommendations on best methods to use?

Depending on the cable, as some connectors are better with solid core than stranded, but WAGO lever type, or the push-in as suggested above.

with 3 sets of conductors, this seems to be part of the ring, with a spur coming off?
Then there should be one outlet with only one set of conductors

Have you got a link. I’ve got mixed up. It’s the start of the ring. Not the end.

Ok… are you sure it’s a ring? Each socket will have 2 sets of conductors (2 cables, if it’s twin and earth)
The ring starts at the board, loops in and out of each socket, then returns to the board. 2 cables at each location.

3 cables would suggest a branch off in the middle of the ring somewhere.

there is a non standard “lollipop” circuit where a bigger size cable comes from the board to a joint, then the ends of the ring are connected there.

It’s definitely a ring. It may branch off in the middle as you say.

yes but it's a continuous endless loop. a bit like the M60. from nowhere to nowhere in 4 hours.

I wouldn't trust those I traced two ring final faults to those causing a high resistance connection. Anything with Ideal Industries as the manufacturer I would give a wide berth.

you could use butt crimps but bearin mind, good qualitycrimps and a ditto crimp tool will set you back a lotmore than a box of wagos. my crimp tool was £70.

In circumstances where one leg of a ring is jointed, would 24A connectors be suitable or should they be meet the full circuit rating?
