I see a lot of that on site with men too. No different. I wish there were more woman tradespeople in the construction industry.Having worked on site with women, they seem to come in two forms, one a really good worker or Barbie with "Eeew, I broke a nail".
Probably if there were a lot more ladies in the trade there would be more of a cross section
Neither can I, Lets have a load more Sparky Chicks on the Forum as well, the more the merrier.Cant even see why the questions being asked.
Plenty of men like that as well these days, what difference does it make male or female long as they know what they doing?Having worked on site with women, they seem to come in two forms, one a really good worker or Barbie with "Eeew, I broke a nail".

If they're as knowledgeable as Sparky chick on this forum then more the merrier.
The two forms I have seen are the butch manly ones with a crew cut, jeans and a wallet in the back pocket on a chain and an lumberjack shirt or the fat ones. ;o)))))Having worked on site with women, they seem to come in two forms, one a really good worker or Barbie with "Eeew, I broke a nail".

Obviously haven’t learnt, that to make tea badly means you stop being asked to make tea.I like Women Electricians, worked with a couple, they were talented as well, and they make better tea than the male apprentices.
Nah I just sack the bad tea makersObviously haven’t learnt, that to make tea badly means you stop being asked to make tea.

She also won’t allow me to wash up, because I splash water on her wooden work surfaces.
Why do people have wooden work surfaces
It’s wood, it needs to be treated every so often, during which you can’t use it.I like washing up. It's relaxing.
Isn't the wooden work surface waterproof? If not then why is it a work surface?....

Apparently water washes away the treatment?
Every female electrician I have seen has been an exceptionally good electrician, very sharp and cluey.
Mock them at your peril !

Joiners I have worked with recommend light sanding and oiling them every month for the first two years to build up a water resistance.
Like a house made out of wood? You learn something new each day.
Hats off to the people who designed something you can't use and yet can sell to people silly enough to buy it...

Like a house made out of wood?
And boats lol.
Exactly... Both made out of treated wood and both functional from the start. Not "Buy this boat and oil it for 2 years to get it up to scratch"
Anyhow I'm taking this thread off course..... Soz.
I can't even see a question .....

wtf has cheesecake got to do with the thread?
I bet you can't boil an egg or iron a shirt........... ;o)))let's face it. most females ( and by that i mean >50% of the female population) ain't got a clue how t0 wire a plug, and would use a shoe to knock a nail in the wall for a picture. for those who have a technical bent, then as long as they are competent to pursue their chosen trade/career, then good luck to them. there's a lot of predudice against them, so for those who have made it, then good for you. ( andbtw, isuse these to trim broken nails, toenails as well, also clip the dogs' claws. occasionally used fro cutting.stripping cat5 ans alarm cables).

You see it's our subconscious preconceptions of women that are the problem. We have the best intentions but the subject keeps drifting back to tea making, kitchens, worktops, cakes etc

i can boil an egg. but who irons shirts? soon as you put them on,they're creased.
All depends mate. In out house I do most of the cooking & washing up. I iron the kids & my shirts. If anything buttons need stitching back on (or hems of pants) then it's usually me. I'm multi-skilled... I hate gardening so the missus does that.
