Hi all

I am in the process of building my own website at the mo. Was wondering if any body has any ideas of what to include and show on it? I am finding that a lot of my customers are now googleing my name and so I want it to look professional.
I have various photos of my work and will be building up a bigger portfolio in the coming weeks. What other information would you suggest aprt from the usual descriptions?

Check this out may help I haven't tried it so can't say for sure what ever you do don't spend a fortune on web hosting or web building software, but do spend time on SEO research keywords, relevant links etc,not dosh. For the best part your website will serve as a contact point for potential customers who have arrived at your site by word of mouth or local advertising(free papers, flyers etc). Of course ignore all this if you do have a fortune to spend and can employ a reputable company to get you a top ten google ranking! If you do pay google for adwords etc watch out for competitors clicking on your adds as they know its costing you money! As for photos ( always name your pics eg. consumer-unit-upgrade.jpg) depending on what area you work in domestic/commercial existing/new builds you may want to consider before and after pics along with customer testimonials along with information on upgrades and compliance with regs. From a customers point of view they want to know that you have experience, can be trusted, will do a good job at a fair price(do not advertise your rates as you will encourage undercutting) sorry if all the above is obvious to you but others may find it helpful.
Good Luck.
