Hi all,

Today i opened up a fusebox and found mixed fuses all but one are the brand MK and the other is a budget brand. I was thinking to give this a code C2?

Any thoughts welcome please?

Cheers

yea but its not fully secure like the same branded ones. i thought as they are not the same it voids the warranty of the CU

If they're secure and not presenting any danger then surely a C3? Voiding the warranty doesn't really have anything to do with if it's fit for purpose or not?

yea i agree with you its just im sure i read somewhere that someone would give it a higher code?

Take out the original and the alternate and check everything from the Buspin clamp height to dinrail clip positions - if these are in any way different then the mcb's can pose a fire risk, or failure of the device to operate correctly when required.... when alternate brands are used even a 1mm or 2 can cause high stresses on the OCPD, the board and other devices so in this case you could give a higher code.

The board may be out of warranty anyway. I would code 3 the entire MK board myself, never liked them!!

I think Darkwood sums it up nicely above.

Agree with spinlondon, not sure what the risk is if all the connections are tight and the mcb fits the board correctly? Can't think that the whole installation would
be unsatisfactory because it has one mcb that isn't the same make as the rest or board!?
