Hi,
I’m a DIYer
I am trying to replace an outside PIR lamp which is connected to an internal fused switch in the hall. Removing the cover of the existing lamp there are 4 wires connected to a junction box - the left one is marked * and the others live, neutral and earth (See attached image)
The lamp fixes on to this with 3 prongs - so it looks the earth isn’t connected. (See image)
The new lamp (see image for connection block) contains no instructions for connecting 4 wires (it does require an earth) The second connector in the block has an earth lug connected to the fitting where the wire enters the unit. How does the new lamp accommodate the wiring?
Ano suggestions or comments would be very welcome. Also what price approximately would an electrician charge for this work - the lamp fixes to the wall with 4 screws/plugs supplied with the unit.
Thanks
Moribund
