Hi all
Im looking for some help and guidance if its ok to ask?

I have a job in Gerrards Cross and have to replace an old BPT gate entry systam, with a current more modern system.
The wiring is all good but the control panel has corroded and the transformer has now given up the ghost, i have have bought the new kit thinking it would be a simple swap over, so i told this fella i would do it, any how i have the job, but I normally only like to do Automated gate installaions and new access systems, following the drawings i have no issues with, but i need help with converting the old system to new , ive been told its easy but im worried on letting the really nice old boy down who has just has major eye surgery and would really like to know when someone is at his gate waiting to come in.

any help would be so helpfull here
Regards
Harvey

Mark, Hmm good question, i recon i may have sorted out a conversion drawing but the old external keypad has got me bothered, as there are far more wires than i actually need, i think some may be for illumination and the new system doesn't require them.

have you got a replacement for the full system? rip it out and start again. take your time and you'll work it out. its been quite a while since ive done a bpt system and i remember it can be difficult enough following their diagrams.

Thanks, i was toying with that idea, but i lack confidence thats my problem, dont get me wrong i can read and follow drawings ok.
I just remembered the new system i have bought may have ac supply for gate release and the FAAC slider requires 12vdc pulse for the start signal< will check tomorrow to confirm.
