Discuss How many driving lessons did everyone do? in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hey Mike.

I didn't take my driving test until I was 19 as I had a motorbike from the age of 16 until then.

Aside from going out driving with the old man I think I had about 6 or 7 lessons, but failed my first test for excessive speed!!!!!!!! Passed it second time round though:D.

My first car was a Citroen Xsara VTS, I thought I was the dogs wedding vegetables when I got it cos all me mates had fiesta's and corsa's and mine was a bloody flying machine.

Didn't pass my test till i was 26.Lived in London back then and it was easier to use public transport.Had about a dozen lessons and my first car was a Vauxhall Astra

First lesson was on my 17th birthday. Had 26 lessons and passed 1st time exactlky 6 months later doing 1 lesson a week.

First car was a brand new 1998 'S' Ford Escort 1.6i 16v.

Although my old man taught me how to hot wire his 2.3 Granada Ghia at a ripe old age of 7 or 8 years old!

Lucky me my employer at the time sent me on one of those 5 day courses passed first time but had to share driving with two other students:)

Chris

I did 5 lessons and pass first time  then i whent cruising in my green yugo 55 altho its top speed was 54 and thats between boiling the engine haaaaee memories :D

Had about 20 lessons and passed first time. First and second cars were Ford Fiestas and my third car is a Skoda Felicia which is great had it for a few years now.

When you were all learning to drive how many lessons did you do?

I have currently done 4 lessons :p

P.S what car did you get afterwards?

2 lessons @ £4.60 each, plus the 1 hour session before the test.
Already had the car before I passed (MK1 Granada 3 litre Ghia with manual box).

I had about 20 lessons, passed first time and was one of the lucky ones to have a car bought for me for my birthday (17th), saying that it was a 15 year old Austin all agro.

Since then I have driven almost every brand going (Including a warrior APC), I gave up counting which cars I had after 28 of them. Most broke as they were kackered to start with or company cars, only 1 was written off, not my fault (It did put me in hospital though).

had to give up my MX3 last year for the family bus (Scenic).

:(

1 week intensive then passed 1st time on car/motorbike/hgv class 2 & hgv class 1. 1st car was a mark 5 ford cortina ! good car.

Passed motorcycle at 17 after about 6 lessons, then drove a plastic pig (robin reliant) until I got around to passing my test at 21 after 6 lessons (which mostly involved being told to slow down)
developed a passion for loser cars when I was young, 4 robin reliants and a yugo to name a few.

had about 40 lessons over a 3 year period LOL and when i finally passed my boss bought me a Fiat Uno 1.0 turbo which was hot **** if you knew your 1.0 litres.

Had two lessons but used to practice in the yard at my Dads work on a saturday while he was working. My first car was a Mk1 ford escort and I loved it ,except when it broke down.Which was quite often!.

had about 30 lessosns had 2 instructors as the first 1 was an idiot and was weird after going round a roundabout he would get me to stop and he wopuld draw the roundabout and what i should be doing etc

i used togo home with loads of paper work and learnt nothing

then after slicing my hand open and not driving for a few months i used a guy my mate went with really nice guy aswel

when i passed my test i used my dads car for a year until i killed it then i got a saxo vtr as my own first car sold that a year ago and had nothing since

I had about 10 lessons and my instructor (called Robin, as in Reliant) told me I was nearly ready to take my test, but he left and I got given another instructor (called Austin, as in Ambassador, Maxi etc) who really wound me up, not least because I seemed to make little progress with him for the £40 a week I was paying for lessons.

I finally passed 3rd time after about 6 months and I reckon a grand's worth of lessons.

I wound't recommed BSM to anyone.

First car was a Peugeot 205 which i loved even though it sounded like a tractor and my mates described the colour as "pond-scum green".

I had 12 lessons and passed first time, drove my mum and dads Cavalier for a while then bought a 'B' Reg Fiesta ghia, great little car!

about twenty.my instructor gave me a two hour lesson in central london where i got hit up the rear then i was taken(bag of nerves)back to hertfordshire where i drove like a (bag of nerves)and failed.passed second time when i thought i was even worse

Cant remember how many lesson, but i passed first time, even though i didnt listen properly and took a wrong turn.

So, for my lack of hearing, he took me round a reverse round the corner which was a kind of distorted horse shoe shape, which i would still have trouble doing, even now :D
