I don't see what the relevance of some of the questions being asked...The OP has asked a question and from this people have gathered he's not up to the job and shouldn't be carrying out such work etc....Because the OP doesn't understand how the system works doesn't mean he lacks the ability to install a system...It happens a lot on sites, someone designs and commissions the system and the sparks on site do the 1st and 2nd fixing. There is no harm in trying to get a better understanding of how it works from the forum.....
why dont you message and ask them mate ???Has this been designed in accordance with BS5839 Part 1.
Maybe if he had been clearer with the first post like in #23 then maybe that would not have happened because it gave the impression he was doing this ad hoc.I don't see what the relevance of some of the questions being asked...The OP has asked a question and from this people have gathered he's not up to the job and shouldn't be carrying out such work etc....Because the OP doesn't understand how the system works doesn't mean he lacks the ability to install a system...It happens a lot on sites, someone designs and commissions the system and the sparks on site do the 1st and 2nd fixing. What's everyone's beef with the OP in this thread ?
we don't want to scare every non regular member offMaybe if he had been clearer with the first post like in #23 then maybe that would not have happened because it gave the impression he was doing this ad hoc.
Fair enough, OP I owe you an apology, friends nowwe don't want to scare every non regular member off
ah you legend axactly what i was looking for cheersBack to the OP... your probably using diode bases. Have a read of this especially page 6 http://www.gcg-es.com/Principals Products/8 - Morley-AIS/Morley AIS 02 - Fire Detection Systems Guide.pdf
excellent thankyou .basically, the diode in the detector base is there to preserve the loop continuity if the head is removed, so that although the system is in "fault", the rest of the loop detectors can still signal the panel to activate "fire".
HI AGAIN ALL
INSTALLING INDUSTRIAL FIRE ALARM FOR FIRST TIME. FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS BY MATE.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN HOW THEY WORK ?
I THOUGH THEY HAD AN EOL RESISTOR TO GIVE A FIXED RESISTANCE VALUE THAT THE PANEL WOULD MONITOR. BUT WHEN INSTALLING HEAT DETECTORS EACH HEAD SEEMS TO HAVE A RESISTER IN IT.
IS THIS CORRECT ? WHY IS IT THERE ?
TIA
