It's that time of year and I have to get my public liability insurance to satisfy the scheme.

I'm often offered work on the side as I'm a reasonably decent plasterer and plumber (sorry!), so thinking that I should probably get my insurance to cover my non-electrical work.

Not got any quotes yet, but does anyone know what sort of price I'd had to pay for "multi trade" public liability insurance?

Shop around but make sure you are getting like for like quotes. I also have my unvented ticket with the intention of electric wet heating systems which always need hot water tanks and are generally unvented and require expansion tanks but when I enquired it was £400 minimum for soldering etc. Which for a couple of jobs per year was a killer. So I stuck to the electrics side and get a plumber in for the pipework.
I stuck to the electrics and last time got a plumber to do the wet stuff.
