I have a loose wire underfloor heating system I am installing for a client ideally they would like the UFH to continue into the down stairs loo which is off the hallway down 2 steps.

It's all going to be tiled and theres no bullnose on the steps.

Anyone ever come across this scenario, did you have any issues going down the stairs? Do you think this will be an issue runing the wire down the step?
Thankyou for any input

If it's the same gross area of mat then should not be a problem if the cable down the stairs is adequately protected from potential impact, although it may be better to have two separate mats connected back to the same controller.

I did this to a shower room and toilet next door and on into a utility area, easy enough, but was tiled over so well protected, forgive me if I am telling to suck eggs, but do ensure your Ω readings are correct before, during and after tiling.

Thanks Mike, that’s good to know💪

Yep test test test, I never want to see those wires again!!

IMO I would not bend the cables over a sharp stair nose, better to chase into the steps and make a slow drop and make good there are some amazing gun resin two packs on the market that set in 15mins that can be used to make good and not delay the works, I have actually sat and held them until they are set so I can move on with the work.

Sounds like a good shout 💪
