Hi All,
Just thought id share my findings with everyone so here goes,

Received a call from a chap that had been given my number from one of my other customers< bonus :biggrin5:>

He ten said every time someone walks around upstairs or the kids slam the front door the front room lights flicker but have never tripped/ blow the fuse. Instantly i thought ok just a lose wire in the fitting no problems!! WRONG when i got there took the rose apart and found some strange looking wire hanging out of the fitting, so with it not tripping i thought maybe the wire has been damaged or screwed. preformed an insulation resistance test and it came back under 1M ohm, so with this being under the lowest acceptable reading told the chap i would have to look into it a bit further! The response i got from me saying this wasn't very good so thought to my self the ****s had a go himself and im about to find out what he had done so just asked him outright " have you done any work yourself" he replied " no no its all be in for ages and has been working fine for years". So a long story short turned the lights on asked him to shout when they flicker so i would know what board to take up and found this pile of madness.

nice little earner for you there. unless he's done some more you ain't seen yet. if he won't come clean, i suggest you consider leaving alone. who knows what he'll get up to after you've sorted out what you can see. bet you find those JBs are wired in brown/blue ( fine for years my arse )
