Hi guys,
I've been carrying out a rewire on a two bedroom basement flat, no problems. Unfortunately, the electrical supply for the building was entering into this flat, through a wall which is having to be rebuilt.
It was decided by the occupiers of the building, that they would use this opportunity to relocate the main fuses into the communal hallway. We contacted the supplier and next week they are coming to relocate the main supply. They requested we build a brick shed (best description I can give it) and a trench 500mm deep leading to the shed. We've then dug a trench from the shed, the same depth, leading to the building. I presume, they're going to install the main fuses in this shed, and then the rest is our responsibility?
So, each flat's energy supplier will need to relocate the meters into the shed, and then we will run new 2.5t&e armoured into each flat. Or, would the meters remain in each flat?
I've been asked to contact each supplier to arrange relocation of the meters, is this necessary (can I do this...I know it's their property). And if so, which department do I ask for, and what do I say!?
Help appreciated.
Kind regards,
Rick
