All,

Been to see a job today and its a kitchen refit, - moving sockets mainly, in a well established "park" home near me.

The homes are of "caravan" type construction, but are effectively permenant as they are plumbed into the sewers etc. Each one has an electrical supply from a "central point" so they do not have individual meters by each unit nor could I locate any form of supply "fuse". The residents pay the park for their leccy!

This is a picture of the RCD which is before the fuseboard..

The Ze was 1.8 ohms which would "suggest" a TT but I couldn't see a rod anywhere!. The Zs on the ring was a respectible 2.26 ohms.

There wasn't any bonding to the water so that needs to be sorted and the gas is from a LPG bottle.

So the question is should I put a rod or two in or leave the earth connection as is?

NB: I tried to meet with the site maintenance manager and he was off site today and yes I know the supply cable is small!

Thanks

i'm thinking that it's a TN system but your readings are high due to the length and small csa of the supply cable. what i have found with these park homes is that 2 or 3 homes will be fed from a pole with an isolator for each and at the pole it's TNC-S. the ones i've worked on have has meters at the poles as well.

Thanks. Just wish I could have seen the Manager and taken a look at the "supply" which is locked away!
