Discuss Problem with 2 way circuit. in the The Welcome Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi Richard.

Just got it all working thanks toy your diagram, so thanks again. Incidentally, the switch near the front door is now either a permanent on or it lets the sensor control the lighting. This is fine for now, but I think I may as well replace the switch near the front door for a second sensor. I believe this would have to be wired in parallel to work.

Would the following work?

Black L1(Front Door switch) to L on PIR
Lout (PIR) to Lout (2nd PIR) including C (from 2nd old 2nd switch, live to light).
Neutral as before.

Thanks

You should find that if you turn on the light at the front door, go down to the garage door and activate the sensor, then go back to the front door and switch the switch off, then light should stay on from the time delay on the sensor.
i.e. the light will be on if either the sensor, or the switch, or both, are on.

The rewiring to another sensor is as you described, the cable in L1 on the existing switch is put in to L in and the wiring on C in the existing switch is put in to L out. the rest remains the same.
