Room Thermostat works in reverse

Had a room thermostat installed a while back which has always worked in reverse ( turn in to coldest setting and clicks on ) is this just a transposed wiring issue? Have attached a jpg of the offending piece.

I think the yellow(?) should be in term 3.

Turn off the power and use a cont tester to see which terminal switches through when call for heat.

But yellow ( is the earth ) and is in the 'earth'.

Yellow/Green is in the earth terminal - yellow is in terminal 4.

There should be a circuit diagram on the inside of the stat cover.

Red is the supply, blue is neutral for the compensating heater and yellow is the switch wire.

You will need to change yellow to terminal 3.

What make of stat is it?

Thanks Guys that's sorted it, only been like that for 9 years!!

I mistook the yellow for brown(live) as it was so dirty.
