Ok thanks mate. Another thing, I know if a one spotlight burns out frequently than the others could that mean the live and neutral are wired the wrong way round?
 
Ok I understand all of above. When fitting all these LED / halogen lights etc. How/ who works out how many are required to light up a room? I'm an old electrician who used to fit just one fluorescent in a kitchen! lol

Hum, a good question, I normally make a suggestion but there are too many variables. Typically not more than about 1m apart!
