Doing major renovation in our house and looking to tidy up phone line positioning etc. I've removed the old cupboard surrounding the CU and PV panel components, with a view to rebuilding a nicer cupboard housing modem and router.

I want to spur of the existing ring, however thanks to the pee poor layout of electrics, I'm wondering if there's any reason I can't spur from the CU, through the convenient hole in the ceiling and run the cable in some conduit as in the photos (no cable in there presently, just mocking up to ask if feasible, any reason why this run is not advisable/forbidden etc)

I'd be grateful for any advice or thoughts you professional people might have.

I'm quite comfortable adding the spur to the MCB, and I understand if I spur from the CU it's not notifiable work?

There is absolutely no reason why you can't spur a single socket of off a RFC directly from the MCB in the CU, as long as you ensure all the wires are properly secured in their terminals.

Thanks, what about my proposed plans as to where to run the conduit? Any reason I can't put it there behind the CU cpc tail?
