You know what mate Your right, we are better than this scum. Can't keep my head screwed on though, lost my sanity years ago. I became a sparky :). Nah only joking, I've loved most of it ;):D

Fair point. We chose our level of sanity by getting into this business. Maybe set the bar low, but at least we chose the height and went for it. Could have been a wreck head or a bricky!

Keep ringing the cops, every time they step out of line, get your neighbours do the same. It will pee off the local Super'Nintendo, when he conducts his/her morning prayers. Same with your local council. Whilst the authorities are probably doing the best they can, the constant barrage of complaints, will be just too much for them. Write to your local MP as well.

Or you give this bloke a call

Thanks again for the support guys, we actually had a reasonably quiet night last night.
Once the Police & Ambulance went, only had 1 more Police attendance at 4.20 am this morning.

The police to be fair to them have been excellent, they keep coming out & nicking them but then they get let back out.
The biggest problem is the landlord, the Police & our local Councillor go through the long process of getting the scum evicted.
Then 3 to 4 days later the landlord shoves another lot in & it starts over again.
Local council reckon they can't do anything because it's a private rental property.

Feel for you Andy, we had an Eastern European family move in next door Bloke and his wife and kids, lovely people until the weekend, hoards of em, BBQing in all weather, and the foulest smelling sausages you have ever smelt, gone now a single bloke, been there for a year I introduced myself after about a week, not spoken since, my Mrs reckons he is a terrorist, daft bint.

Cheers Pete, Can I have your neighbour ?. I'd be well happy with one that said nowt ;)
To be fair though, the rest of the neighbours are no trouble at all.
Nice, friendly & help you if they can. It's just the one house & just my luck it's next door to me.
Ah well, such is life. They won't win, I'm too stubborn for that. :)

When I first got married we had a mid terrace house in Bath, OAPs either side worst neighbors ever, never stopped moaning, when I rewired one of em accused me of tapping in to his electrics, I'm an OAP now, glad I ain't that cynical.

@Specialist sympathies hon, these types of people just seem to get away with so much carp. A friend of mine down here in Marshfield is having problems with a dodgy bint who's been moved on for causing hassle before.

She's even followed him to work, and yet, the law seems to protect her more than it protects him. It got so bad he banged a load of CCTV up (so he could make sure there was evidence if he got accused of stuff), she complained and the council, knowing what a problem she is because they've had issues before, are forcing him to take some of it down. This country stinks in terms of the imbalance that exists when it comes to protecting ordinary hard working law abiding people from the scum.

I keep a 30mm combination spanner at the side of the bed and dread the day I might actually have to use it for bashing someone because I know I'll be facing a choice between protecting me, my friend and our property and possible jail time, or at best a criminal record, for assaulting the scum bag who breaks in.

Strange: Where we used to live there were a lot of older people, 70's & 80's etc.
I always found I got on better with them than the people of my own generation.
1 couple especially, he was an ex soldier & old miner & she was an ex schoolteacher. (Sadly both gone now)
I learned a lot from them about what the old mining villages were like, especially during the war and some of what it had been like to be at Dunkirk etc.
Interesting to hear from people who'd been there & sometimes a lot different from what you read in the books or are taught in school.

Many years ago we had a few 'issues'. My uniformed friend got me a large maglite commenting it would never be questioned as it's not unusual to keep a torch by the bed or in a car ;)

Cheers Sparkychick appreciate it. Your bang on, the law always seems to protect the scum to a greater extent than law abiding people.
The laws on CCTV especially in Domestic situations are a bit of a grey area at times & a lot of local authorities suddenly discover they have arcane byelaws to fall back on when faced with a dispute over CCTV.
Get to know your local police crime prevention officer, a good one can be a godsend to you?

Remind your friend: If this woman follows or harasses him regularly, women can be stalkers too & are subject to the same anti stalking laws as men.

Apparently: If an Intruder is on or over the third step of your stairs while your upstairs and your in fear for your safety, then your legally entitled to use Reasonable force to protect yourself (My definition of Reasonable & the laws differs) Especially being a young woman?
Although I like your 30mm spanner idea, the law wouldn't look too kindly on it & you'd have a hard proving you had a legitimate reason for it being on your bedside table.
A better choice would be a 3 D cell maglite, legitimate reason for having it there & does the job well.
