Your brilliant, hit the nail on the head. The reality is that there will always some busy "poor" fool who will undercut you.....get a reputation for being good at your job and then you can worry less about about being undercut. Reputation really matters . Also getting a "nose" for difficult clients helps.....the ones who want to haggle with you once the job is complete.... if you know what I mean
Explain please, did not understand.but bear in mind that 1 year's niceic rip -off subs would buy 5 editions of the wiring regs.and still leave change for a good pi$$ up.

I said to myself I will give it a couple of years and see.
It's just the IET change one or 2 sentences in there regs, then a new book replaces the old. The niave fall for it, but the experienced notice that it changes like a routine to keep the economy going.
£ 510.00 for this yearwhat's the niceic annual fee these days?
same with me, mate. i'll die before i retire.I never get the idea to quit, but then after forty years and more its too late. I'll be called to the glue factory soon. But I have a plan, that is to die with me boots on. Don't know if that'll help though
But I feel that being a sparky was simpler back then untill year 2000I never get the idea to quit, but then after forty years and more its too late. I'll be called to the glue factory soon. But I have a plan, that is to die with me boots on. Don't know if that'll help though

was even better pre 1991 when we has analogue meters ( it's about between 1 ohm and 1 and a bit ) and to be sure we fitted bonding to everything metal that didn't play an electric guitar..But I feel that being a sparky was simpler back then untill year 2000
Back then...We used to test the earth with an incandescent filament lamp on two core flex and bayonet holder by holding the two cores against L-N the L-E if it was brighter on the earth then you was good to go. But please please please do not tell anyone. Yeh it was simpler especially regs and legal wise. However I do think it is safer if you really follow best practice now. One lamp dangling in the middle of every room, couple of sockets, wylex CU job done.simpler back then

and don't forget the bayonet adaptor for 'er inddoors to plug in the iron. was a major step forward when she realised the iron did not have to go on the fire any more.Back then...We used to test the earth with an incandescent filament lamp on two core flex and bayonet holder by holding the two cores against L-N the L-E if it was brighter on the earth then you was good to go.
