Discuss Tightening Positive Battery Terminal, Hit Chassis and Shorted Out? in the Auto Electrician Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I had the 440 similar to the picture. Every time I go through an airport and the pins in my ankle set off the scanner alarm the memories of the love-hate relationship I used to have with it come flooding back.

All part of life's rich tapestry and the learning curves we go through, I also have a small plate on my skull from a psychotic ex-girlfriend but if it came to a one on one showdown I think the 440 Maico was more feisty and less predictable (and possibly more fun to ride :)).

Lol well said. Spose we all feel that way bout ex gf's.

Any damaged wiring would be limited to the wire that connects the -ve side of the battery to the frame of the bike and would be pretty obvious. It's highly unlikely if it was a quick short circuit and you'd also have smelled the burning insulation when the mishap occurred.

Is the bike running fine? Have you ridden it?

You wont have buggered anything aside from, potentially, the battery. Stop worrying you'd know by now if anything else was goosed.

*SLAP* - Thats for even thinking about touching the positive terminal with the negative still connected.
