hi need some help
I have an adt mx panel that has sounder bases on a two wire system

I have been reliably told by haes systems that Tyco make these bases and nothing else available is
compatible as there has been a recent change in the law

I need to extend this system is there anything that can be done
other than change it?

thanks in advance Jonah

Tyco & ADT have total control of the Minerva Panel, Being a closed system, you will have to pay ADT big bucks to extend or modify, plus no doubt a 5 year maintenance contract.
Best bet is to change panel and devices, for an open system, will save the customer in the long run.
As any addressable system, the cable is run as a loop, so the original cable can be ultilised into a new system.

ADT won't even entertain attending a site now days if you don't have a contract with them and even if they do it will cost you a bomb. Like Tazz says, it may be worth considering ripping out panel and devices for something open protocol where anyone can get hold of parts.
Also need to be careful with these panels. If you don't know what your doing, you can do a lot of damage ending in a rather costly call to ADT!
