Hello,

Can anyone tell me if there is such a device where you can power off the sockets in a room when you leave the house in one go.
For example I have an AV setup with lots of sockets hidden behind a low rise cabinet.

I just wanted an easy way to power off the room at night or when I go out (just for the peace of mind of fire, and the slight cost saving).

Maybe something like a master switch, mounted close to the light switch ? Nothing industrial looking though !

Or if the circuit is on one RCBO, is there such thing as a remote switch to power of the rcbo.

Thanks !

That was my thought richy but when i read it back he only wants one room switching off...or thats how i interpreted it.

JulianC got the correct answer me thinks, i just couldn't be arsed to find a link lol - thats the cheapest way to do it anyway.

OP, how much you willing to spend? Several ways of achieving what you're asking for.

Run your power circuit through a contactor, in the CU, and control it with a low power (light) switch.

this is an easy way to do it and you can also control your lighting the same way.
i set up zone control and the control ckt's only run on 24 volts these operate contactors for the lights and outlets,
this also saves a lot in the cost of wiring
