Guys

Has anyone ever installed metallic conduit on an chrysotile and amosite AIB ceiling with red wall plugs.

We have had an niceic contractor install metal on the AIB ceiling with red wall plugs outside our flat for a big building company.

Now for months they have argued saying it was safe to do so.

They aren't red rawl plugs, they look like worm drive type plasterboard fixings.

Is it definately asbestos and definately contain amosite?

For any asbestos board drilling holes must follow the correct procedure as shown in HSE guides, obviously we can't see what procedure they used but the fact that the edge of hole appears to be broken and not properly sealed suggests that the work has not been done correctly.

You should contact your local authority and tell them of your concerns, it is very important that this is investigated properly and if they have not worked safely these contractors must be dealt with by the authorities.

Are you absolutely certain it is asbestos? If so the contractor is extremely negligible and whoever did it obviously has no concern for their safety or the safety of others.

Those are self drive spiral plaster board fixings

have You had it 100% confirmed that the ceiling is indeed asbestos

They certainly look like spiral plasterboard fittings, and plastic ones, not the metal ones which are marginally better.
Neither should be used anywhere near any asbestos-containing products.
