Bulkhead with Security screws

Hi all, customer has requested I find a key for the security screws that bolt the front cover of his bulkhead light to the base (To change the lamp). Haven't seen anything like it before the screws have a raised "+" shape so the key would be the opposite. Anyone have any ideas? I can open it using snips/long nose pliers but not ideal. House is a bit of a bodge, with another outside light being controlled by an emergency key switch, etc. :90:

Look online for security bit boxes. There are thousands!

I know mate I was wondering if there was a specific name for this shape but chances are I'll never find it!

Haven't got a clue mate, every manufacturer makes different security screws. Just drill them out and replace with a suitable screw ;-)

Hi, not sure what type of screw this is but if you go to screwfix you can get a selection of security bits in one pack, might be useful in the future too. not sure of the price though, i bought one a few years ago and it was about a tenner. there should be one in the pack with two small prongs that should fit you screw perfectly well.

A picture of the fitting and screw head could help solve the problem

Is it a clutch head screw?

Can't see why one would be put on a bulkhead though.

Everyone has kind of answered my question. I can get the screw out and replace it with something else easily enough. The customer just wondered if a key could be easily had to minimize the disturbance on the fitting. I don't see the point as it's just your average looking bulkhead!

For reference it's similar to the one below but has 4 "wings" if you will, making it a raised + shape (as mentioned in OP).

Never seen one before in my life I'm afraid, could you get a socket set type thing in? Site that would catch the screw if there is enough space, which I bet there isn't!

You've missed the point - I don't need security screws. There is absolutely no need for them in this install. Cheers anyway.

I will confirm the advice that has already been given, As there is no need in the circumstance for security screws, get them out and replace for ordinary ones.
