How would you wire additional sockets in houses that are newer build and furnished.
For example an additional socket in a bedroom. You don't have floorboards to make it easier.
Do you go behind the skirting? Do you slot straps in a stud partition?
I haven't done much domestic in newer...
I am just coming up to my first year as a qualified Electrician after changing careers from a Fraud Analyst and this site has answered many of the questions that I have had for which I am very thankfull.

Why is it the hallway and some switches seems left out on earths in so many houses, i mean no earth wire within the cable for them but most of the house wired in t&e or ive found where they just have bothered with connecting the earth is there a reason for this
Was this wire ever legal stuff ...
Obviously easier to wire than traditional builds but would be interested from those who have been doing them for a while if theres a "rough" figure to use to cross check pricing ie £25 pere switch £35 per socket, that kind of thing.

do sockets in external stud walls need to be fire rated? also in timber framed houses is it only the joining walls that need to be fire rated? where can i find documents to help me with this, cant find much in document p or bs7671
