    Calculating cable length from resistance

I've noticed a number of threads regarding exam questions asking to calculate the length of a cable by measuring resistance. But I can't think of a practical situation where you would ever need to do this and seriously doubt the accuracy of the method. I know there are specialist cable fault...

    Circuit Length

Hi Peeps I have my 2391 coming up in October and I am busy revising. When determing the circuit length and VD, my notes say to link L - N at the load side and take the loop resistance at the DB. The example I have is : Loop Resistance = 0.7 ohms (R) and csa of cable = 1mm2 (S), calculate the...

    Schuco rail length calc

Chaps, I notice the Schuco Rail length calculation is "22 mm + [number of modules x (module width + 21 mm)]". I'm guessing this leaves zero gap at the end of the rail after the end-clamps. Are Schuco expecting their end-clamps to be flush with the end of the rail then?

    Extension lead length

I've seen many cheap(£1.49) 4 way 0.5 metre extensions on sale in Asda and Morrisons. I seem to remember from somewhere that an extension lead has to be at least 1 metre long. Occasionaly, the short cable allows easy placement for audio etc. but I thought it wasn't allowed. Does anyone else...
