Anyway @Ian bamber sorry about the digression as I am not a moderator there is little I can do to keep it on track but the moderators do get a bit touchy on the NICEIC subject it seems. But best of luck with your new venture. As you can see six people on this thread are using/recommending Stroma so there must be some reason for that to make it worthwhile your looking into.
Nobody as said he can't use a different scheme it has just been pointed out to him that the Niceic is better recognised than they others.
All schemes are a means to an end and we only join them because we have to, but surely going with the most recognised makes more business sense.
As for your comment about Moderators being touchy, well that's the type of comment I would expect from the very member you have a problem with.
Yes he has now gained Arms access where as I see you have had yours removed, if it's because of him getting access then all I can say is more fool you, you could have simply hit the ignore button instead it would appear you've cut your own nose off, which without being rude seems a tad childish to me.

I can only apologise for causing this heated discussion. Just want to say thanks to everyone for their input.
I think while I'm starting up and mainly dealing with domestic, small commercial and industrial installations, stroma might be the way forward. Then, if my work moves onto bigger and better things, I could go down the niceic route.
Thanks again for all the replies guys, they're much appreciated

No need to apologise Ian, you simply asked a question. As for an heated discussion it's nothing, we are all grown men and just voicing our opinions, sometimes text can come across totally different to actually saying to someone as with text you can't see a person's face or their expression.
If we were in a pub we would all no doubt be flicking peanuts at each and having some loud banter.
