Discuss Grade A LD2 fire alarm advise in the Security Alarms, Door Entry and CCTV (Public) area at ElectriciansForums.net

How many floors is the property? Around my way HMO's require manual call points. I've never had a drama with customers saying they didn't want them...you need a panel, emergency lighting etc so they don't really look out of place imo.

Not uncommon for the separate dwellings to have Part 6 detection also. Is the kitchen communal because that is high risk and should form part of the Grade A system. Don't forget to allow for a zone plan this is a requirement of BS5839:1

Yeah communal kitchen is include that as part of the grade A on the panel system. Yeah I've got that on my to do. I maintained the fire alarm and sprinkler system at John Lewis distribution centre for 18 month, that was less hassle then this.

since the Grenfell tower fire most land lords have to step up to the plate .
regarding the property you are working is HMO and fire panel is in order .having read
that letter from the council to you client .you need to read carefully.
e.g. fire doors .

That councill letter is asking for interlinked smoke alarms why on earth are you installing a fire alarm???
Because it asks for a Grade A LD2 system a hybrid of the Part 1 and 6 systems. High time this was restricted to Part 1 systems.
