Hi

I just passed my ticket, retrained and used to be a court clerk but got made redundant

Have my elecsa assessment next week and have changed my fuse board so all is good there

Now is there anywhere here that can give me some tips on running my own business and cheap places for bit s?

I have no any idea about this because i am reading this first time so i think you should be contact with any experience person on cell phone not here otherwise here's all fellows are give you the bets solution....
 
Hmm, well this is an interesting thread... Now I'm more open minded than certain forum members so I'll try to answer nicely.

What course did you do to get yourself up to scratch with electrics and the wiring regs? Have you got any experience in another building trade?

It sounds like you're a short course person, much like myself, but I've got a lot of domestic building work experience. (but don't put me near industrial, I've not got a clue!)

I'd say that because you're asking where to get stuff, you're not a building minded person. I learnt a long time ago, before I did electrical work, what the cheapest wholesalers were...

I'd suggest you should find a sparks and see if you can be his mate for a while before you start yourself. The vast majority will be able to teach you to use the tools, where to buy stuff and how the industry works (as I said previously, I got most of my experience from friends and attempts at plastering, plumbing etc)
 
To get the best prices from wholesalers play them off against each other James as you will never get their best price at the first time of asking, particularly if you are a new face and contact to them.
