Just brought my 3x 18V Li-Ion Batteries in for a charge ready for tomorrow and 1x of them is now showing as faulty.... all three were working fine earlier today.. not happy as i only bought the set last October.

Anyone else had these problems? i know many have and i may be able to recoup some dosh as faulty batteries are selling well on ebay.. still doesnt help the fact that replacements are £70+!!!

Take it up with Makita direct.

You will be surprised at how accommodating they can be.

My 14.4's are just starting to give up the ghost after 4 years of abuse.

Nothing i have used before even comes close to these.

Dont be put off.

i bought the 202 kit and one of the batts was duff i went on the web and looked up the address in milton keynes it cost like 6-7 quid postage but they send you a new on straight away i did ask them what the problem was but they just informed me one or more of the cells inside had been compromised but they are good and sort it quick for u

Spoke to Makita this morning. The very nice lady on the end of the phone kindly asked me send my battery back to them and they would sort something out.

What a service! ;)

Cheers for the heads up Guys!

Told ya.;)

I had a prob with my cordless combi, although a few months old, and had taken a bit of a battering.

I sent it back to them for repair and a few days later got a brand new body instead!

Which is the reason why im just about to spend some money on some new Makita gear :D

Must admit I do love my makita stuff. Would replace it in an instant if stolen or busted etc.

Tried andew other brands but nothing comes close tbh. Well maybe Hilti! ;-)

We had two out of our four 18v Lithium batteries die on the same day.

Took back to Citys who sent then back to Makita for a replacement, good service.
