Discuss Pricing in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Look after builders pal, they are a bloody good source of work. If this guys giving you work already you wanna keep him sweet by not being a nob. Check the work is good, charge him a ton maybe a ton and a half. Its worth doing the little stuff for cheap to keep him bringing you the big stuff.

A ton, ton and a half for an EICR on a couple of circuits!! jees how much do you charge or a full EICR??

I think it's more about making it worth his while for not being involved in the first place. If there was a really good reason for getting a different sparky, such as I was unavailable at the time, then I might help out.
Otherwise, "you made your bed"...

LABC, very helpfull indeed, explained the situation and they have alot of experience with this, they just want me to send a covering letter to go with the EICR, and jobs a good un. But I have an email of what they have requested off me, so I have in black and white incase of any problems.

About a ton and a half for EICR on an average house. This isn't for an EICR. This is for an 'I'll take responsibility for someone elses work' MWC

Very true guys, I think its one of the very few industries in the world, where alot of people think they can do it themselves, how wrong they are.
One of the few?
Decorating
Plumbing
Building
Driving
Cooking
Financial investment
Gardening
Booking keeping
Car maintenance
To name a few....

There are plenty of 'industries' that people think they can do themselves
You're post doesn't really make any sense....

You are suggesting that all people, (non-electricians) who think they can do electrical work, of any type, are wrong in thinking this?
I beg to differ...

I didn't realise it was a test, I didn't realise there was a regulation for gardening, decorating, my point was genuine sparkys who go through the effort of qualifying and then registering with a self certification scheme know alot more about electrics and what's right and wrong, then someone who hasn't but can you use a screwdriver.
