Thanks for some good and funny answers guys lol. I thought about soldering them but the units are completely sealed so no chance of swapping out the LED. The Poland idea sounds best so think i'll try that.

Phone the UK supplier and argue the fact that you can buy them in from Poland at £60 per unit, also double check when they where installed and email the manufacturer re a warranty claim *(an invoice within the 5 year time scale "may" suddenly found)

*I do not advocate fraud but it seems the manufacturer and supplier are trying it on so its worth a punt.

Just checked Mr Resistor these types of lights are in the range of £35 to £55 + vat each so the quote for £1000 for 6 is a rip off.

He's only got the depth available . Any deeper and he'll be through the other side I would imagine.
