Hi, I have been asked to test a property as the meter has been ripped out by the previous tenants and the supplier need dead test results before they install a new meter, Has anyone done this for a supplier and do they need a condition report or just a schedule of test results?

Ive tried calling the supplier but couldn't get any sense from them...

Thanks

Last three times I have been asked to do this, the customer has called the energy company to say the testing has been completed. No request from them to share the test results, no proof of testing required, no interest in the test sheet from the meter fitter.
It's usually a case of the energy company saying the right things to cover their own. Negotiate with the customer the extent of the testing to be carried out using your recommendations based on the situation.

I think if you are to offer a test certificate, you are saying it is safe to commission the site. If it turns out that something is not safe you are fully liable. I would think very carefully about what you feel is right for the test to walk away with confidence that it is safe. So really to cover yourself (if it were me) EICR and its not that expensive, is it? Maybe as Andy said the DNO couldn't give a rats but it is about the tenant/customer safety, no?

Problem with just test results would be missing things like exposed live parts, broken socket for example. The installation clearly wouldn't be safe to re-energise under those circumstances.

If you're going to inspect, you might as well put it in writing.
