Train 4 trade skills feedback

It is completely impossible to complete this course if you hold a full time job. I signed upto this at a cost of £135 after speaking to a very convincing con-artist of a salesman. He assured me I could complete the course without taking any time from work, this I now know is not possible as it is necessary to attend the practical sessions. The tutors are not avaialble to speak as I was told they would be, after 6pm I cannot get hold of anyone, when I managed to speak to someone they simply advised me to read the books! That was not helpful at all. I have now resorted to putting this in the hands of a solicitor after numerous attempts at trying to cancel. Avoid this course at all costs, look at every other option first. Please let me know if anyone has had a similar experience.

What did you sign up to for £135? The sales guy should have told you about the practical sessions. I've never found a problem getting hold of the tutors but after 6pm I'd imagine they've clocked off. I know there are people working full time and studying the course, I assume they must take the time off for the training as holidays, unless they have an understanding employer. How long ago did you sign up?

hi all i am currently on the full scope electrical course i am at module 16 at present just about to start mod17 no practical weeks as of yet due to waiting for my lender to send me a copy of my account i have found the training very good so far and have been able to contact tutors at any time via email wich is replied to very quickly i to was a bit concerned at first by some negative stuff on the internet but you get out what you put in i think if train4trade was in anyway dodgy they would of been shut down keep studying hard and the goals will come

I also signed up with T4TS and then decided to cancel as I believe the rep had deliberately misled me when i asked is the assignment with a local firm guarenteed after completing the online tutoring ,he said yes,but if you look at the documents it states its your responsibility entirely to find the hands on experience and then goes on to say that if all your attempts fail then they MAY be able to direct you to someone that can..which in itself means nothing,they seem to have covered all the legal aspects,i became suspicious after he told me to write to 3 local firms to ask if they will employ me for experience,after the signing and payment of £100 was complete,I cant belive anybody would want to pay and train you to be there competitor.and I belive the £100 would be his commission,I think they are just another business try to recruit as many as possible,I also think there literiture is a bit dated.

I'm currently on the full scope course with these guys and fitting in the learning around my job. I am due for the first lot of practical training, and when I was sold the course I was led to believe that practical training sessions were continuously run making it easy for me to book. I called them last week to book to be told that they didn't have any dates available and I would have to call back on the 2/4/11 when more dates are release, I had to explain to the woman that I can only do a certain set of dates but was told that she couldn't do anything for me, and wouldn't even put me through to speak to someone in the booking dept.

I was wondering if anybody else who is currently on this course has experienced anything like this.

I too have to say that I am very disappointed with the firm and the service and agree that it is will take me years to complete the domestic course fitting it around my current job. This is nothing against the principle of the product or the material (which I am sure will work well for others), but more about the misleading information given to me by the salesperson and the admin/support staff, which in turn meant that the product was not suitable for me.

I completed Module 11 in mid-Feb. When I finally proved that I was up to date with my payments I was told to call back after the 15th of April, but I would be looking at being able to booked in for some time in June (4 months after finishing the relevant modules!!!).
Then I established that I could only do the electrical practical sessions in Southampton, Worcester or Leeds... one of the selling points was that I was told I would be able to do this in Luton (reasonably convenient for North London)... but then 'the salesperson is not expected to know that this can't be done in Luton' the understanding client service person told me.
I thought at least my £65 a day will cover the travel and accom, before I was told it was only £30... how many more lies did this salesman tell me?

I apprecaite that the qualifcation requires work but through your initial meeting you expect to be told all that would be required of you. I was told that to be qualified as a domestic installer I had to do 2 weeks practical and this would take me about a year, this was after I had voiced my concern about working this around my work life.

At the end of the day I feel lied to and cheated by the person who sold me this product. I will be looking to pursue them on the grounds of mis-selling the product, the banks can get strung up over mis-selling so surely companies such as this can too!

the worst part of all of this is that you've all been ripped off by a company who will tell you anything to get you to sign on the dotted line and part with your thousands, i bet you were told of the riches to be earned being an electrician, all of the work available etc.
the truth is that there isnt much work out there at the moment and wont be for some time and your new and well earned qualifications wont be respected by any decent employers who would prefer someone timeserved/nvq3/jib approved etc. etc. that is unless you are willing to work £7/8 per hour which most of you will end up getting offered until you have some decent on site experience.
but i bet you've all been told of further riches setting up on your own, how many people are doing these courses or have done/ going to do them? aren't the majority of these people thinking the same thing.
sparks are ten a penny, there is no shortage of good experience
very very few earn the sort of money t4ts will have told you about.
theres alot of competition and not much work.

keep your money and get into banking

Hi Manda, ive just joined this site, and am as well training thru t4ts. R u still doing this course? Ive heard a lot of negative feed back from other users on this site. If u r or have completed the course with T4TS would be nice to hear how u have got on.

So does that mean that you can NOT actually do the course in Luton? I've got someone from T4TS coming too my house tomorrow and i was told that the course would be held in luton. Was also told all the accomodation would be paid for by them. I received a phone call on the friday saying id been accepted following the initial interview which was on the thursday which seems FAR to quick!! Especialy as my grades are very poor (1 GCSE at grade C) and the fact i have a DR10 on my driving licence & dont get my licence back until October this year... which i expected to pull me down a bit..

Im very weary after all of this and all the stuff that came up BEFORE id even finished spelling it on google!! that says it all realy...

Has anybody fully completed the course and found a job so far? Would really like to know more before i sign the contents of my bank account away!

You have doubts,so possibly now is the wrong time to outlay a substantial amount of money with those doubts still with you

An electrician is a good and satisfying trade,but the industry, no different to the rest of the economy, is in bad shape at the moment and will take at least a few years to come good

Rather than paying a lot of money for a short period course,perhaps a college based route whilst trying to get related, on the job employment, may be a better alternative

When the longer college route is complete,hopefully, the industry will be on a better footing and your new qualifications stand a better chance of gaining employment against the very intense competition you will face which will include very experienced sparks out of work as a result of todays economic climate

ive definitely got a job as soon as i start the course and as soon as i finish the course hes going to keep me on and give me a company van, hes also paying half of the fees so im not overly worried about the money. ive now started the course anyhow, and everything checks out by my employer and a few other firms ive contacted regarding it so all seems good!

Im in the same position. A couple of days ago i called up to cancel because i felt the course was nothing like the salesman made it out to be. Then they told me that he had signed me up for a '£4000' Fixed loan. Which he never said to me and me being only 20 working in a supermarket knows full well i cannot afford that! The salesman told me he was my tutor and he would come to my house for a minimum of 8hours a week to go through it all with me. Then when i rang the Student Helpline they told me hes just a salesman and i wont see him again! So he sold me the course by LYING and was very forceful on me signing things and in a way id class that as BULLYING! So i Definatly do not recommend the course. You are basically paying £4000 for a couple of books to teach yourself! Where as you can teach yourself for F*** all on youtube.

i have just had my visit from the college rep (salesman) he seemed very ----- and really seemed to to good to be true, he just seemed like he wanted me to get on the course and pay the total amount of £5000 or £33 a week over 24 months to become qualified in plumbing, electrics and renewable energy i have already reserved my plumbing level 1 and 2 from my local college that this sails men has basically said this was a waist of time and have gained nothing from it, if anyone has any feed back on the trade 4 skills college or anyone thas completed the course pleas contact me valconaventon@gmail.com

Actually I'm on the course with T4TS, I'm finding it very good. I've been 'training' for the past 2 years, I'm now qualified as Full-Scope Domestic Installer, the support that I have been getting from my tutor has been good also. I see there's a lot of disgruntled people out there because of bad communication, in a way I do agree with that. T4TS isn't the best outfit out there for sure, and I sometimes think I could've gone down the college route, but for me it works out fine, I'm under no pressure to complete the course, but I know that I will. I'm currently under the primary care team for my manic episodes and depression, so like I said it works for me. At the end of the day I feel satisfied with what's going on in my life this far. No doubt at some point I will probably have some sort of run-in with T4TS, I think that's unavoidable, there's so many testimonials about it all.
Fortunately for me I have the great support from my parents financially and my fiancée to keep my arse kicked.

I have made an official complaint about T4TS to the financial ombudsmen service, I had signed this so called credit agreement form for the electrical and heating course on the basis that I will only pay the £100 once I have a job and can cancel this agreement. After 5 days I called up the salesman and told him that I want to cancel. After 1 month i started getting threatening letters by career development finance company for the payment of £3950. They obviously do not function like a proper educational provider as they have employed sales person who specialising in conning people. I would suggesting seeking legal help from the citizens advice bureau.

did you have any luck cancelling this course? I haven't paid a penny for this course as I had thought that I had cancelled the agreement. T4TS and their associated companies are like a bunch of pack wolves looking for people to scam and force into signing their agreement.

If I have to pay them because of their harrassment, I will definitely sue them in court
