still on the tools , mate. as for the nails, they come in useful for scratching my back, except when she gets carried away. :Mr-T:

Mine was like that , though she usually stripped the bark of roots underwater. She was a proper water baby.
I thought ours was the opposite - if we walk down a path after rain he avoids puddles. At first I thought it was just random chance but after enough times you can't reasonably accept it as that. But one time I was walking across a bridge over a shallow stream and he decided to paddle through the water rather than follow me over the bridge. That surprised me. It's not that he has an aversion to bridges. We crossed a couple of them to get there.

On the plus side, it washed his feet from the mud he'd been running around in.

If my dog was in the water , sea , river or lake . She would stay there all day if you let her.

One day she was in so long she developed a condition that i had not hear of till then.
The day after , when she tried to get up in the morning she could not stand , or put weight on her rear end.
I took her straight to the vet , who diagnosed her with 'Labrador s tail'.
Apparently they use their tail as a rudder , and it causes them a lot of pain. I felt really bad about that at the time .

I can imagine you did.
Did she recover?

We have a cockapoo puppy called Chance and three cats called Meg, Shiro and Basil.

It is a mad house at times!!

couple of fat spiders hang around under my work bench. and the neighbors cat that jumps over the fence to sort out our mice problems :) best cat ever no feeding and no cleaning needed.

Spiders?! oh no!

Mine hates little dogs going underneath him and usually let's them know pretty quick.

Re Spiders, I used to have a couple of tarantulas I had a lovely pink toed one and the common chillian rose also had 2 royal pythons and an emperor scorpion.

Ours is actually quite gentle with them. Pablo (yes that's his name) will run around with Max. Max, being a collie, can run like the wind. But he goes just fast enough with Pablo to make it a chase. Otherwise it would be a no contest. The important thing is that they both enjoy it and get exercise.

Had loads of dogs over the years from Shih Tzu for the kids to an 85kg Neapolitan Mastiff complete with cropped ears imported from Italy.

Tropical fish, snakes, bearded dragons, mice and rats.

Currently have 10 working Labradors, 7 of which are only 2.5 weeks old. Plus a Cocker pup at 14.5 weeks old, which is the kids, to keep them away and undoing the training of my Labradors.

Mum used to work for bdh, so had lots of dogs and cat when lived with her, she would bring the sick ones home to get them well, one a lively white gs had had its ears cut of with a pair of snips and hot water down her side but she still loved everyone she would meet, spent a lot of time giving drugs to the sick ones that would come home and staying up all night to make shore they are ok, got feed up with the amount of times I had to look after a dog just to have to pick it up in the morning put it the back of car so my mum can take it back it was aways a cold dog,so now days I would love a pet but can not do it.
Dan the bottom that does the. Speaking thing is not working pleas help as my Spillane is not good

Did you close the 'iron curtain' over their cage each night?
No mate Gorby died of natural causes, Chov didn't last much longer, Chernobyl had just gone critical, and I was due to come home anyway, RIP Gorby and Chov.

Correctomundo my Friend, that era scared the brown stuff out of me I can tell you, I have some Cancer now, so draw your own conclusions!!!!!!!!

Nature has taken Chernobyl back but people also moved back and grew stuff. That's the weird thing about radiation - nature doesn't see it - unless you get corn with 2 ears! I guess you don't see it in vegetation but mammals you will.

I agree Mate but I was always fit, smoked a bit, all our food was checked but only with the most crude equipment, you tell me it didn't give me what I have had.

DNA doesn't like radiation I agree. Mutations of cells happen in our bodies every second of every day but a healthy immune system gobbles it up. Some get through for reasons and some are caused for completely different reasons such as radiation. Be well Pete and keep cheering us all up!

Aye ...... he/she looks so proud of their Maiden patch. :D

This is probably my favourite all-time cat image though:

This little dog was chasing after Max and biting his tail..........

A little bit later:

Little dog:
"Lets kiss and make up."

Max:
"Listen you annoying little turd. I have my big left hook ready to wipe that stupid grin off your bl00dy face."

I have also two dogs - Rachel and Darcy and your dogs remind me mine, They behave in a similar way!

Max is a rescue dog. We have had him for a little over two years and the vet estimated his age at about one year. So now he is three and a bit. And matured.

A lot of the other dogs and owners we meet think he is older from the grey/white hairs he has on his face and is calm demeanour when we are out and about. He is a real gentleman.

We met a family of five a day or so ago. The two younger children were fine with him and he greets them but the older, maybe six, was fearful. Somehow Max sensed that and left her in peace.

We had a cat when I was young, but since I got married in'98 we have had in total (at various times) 5 budgies, 3 goldfish, 2 hamsters, 2 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits. We now have a 14 month old dog after our last dog was put to sleep after 14 years. He was a rescue dog, great with the kids and daft as a brush. A perfect pet.
