Welcome to the forum mate.
As above, we need more info.
A quick Google says that the temp of a clothes iron is between 180-220º C (356-428 Fahrenheit)
Is your quarts heating element within that range?

but can it cook cheesecake?

for the technical details of an iron , i need to consult a higher authority ,'er indoors. she's the one that takes it off the fire when it's hot enough.

Curious to know why - is this some "specialised type of cooking", such as using the oven for SMD solder reflow of PCBs?

I wasn't thinking. Thanks. You got me on the right track. I just now flipped my hot plate over and sat it on the circular glass part of the 'top' of the old, now junk, Ambiano convection oven. Works great for baking cookies. Great forum. I'm in New York USA by the way.
