Landlord of a job I went to changed the consumer unit himself and wondered why he couldn't get the RCD in!

Beautifully terminated garage SWA and a nearby socket.

Well, at least you can see the colours clearly... Lol!

Ooops, just looked again... I take back my previous remark (unless those meter tails are unsheathed, of course).

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S II via Tapatalk

who cares if they are sheathed or unsheathed, theyre the wrong colours!!! didnt know you could still get green as opposed to green and yellow!

Another job this week.

Client has an outside jacuzzi.. Oooer missus.
The guys that fitted it when straight off the meter with their SWA. Nicely done. But no OCPD for the cable other than main cut out (100amp fuse) until the RCD just before the jacuzzi itself.

loving the silicone instead of a blind grommet or a stuffing gland!!

I tried running it through Google Translate and apparently the language it's written in doesn't exist or has yet to be invented.

Are those Gizmo's still around that sent the metre backwards while using the free leccy?? The one's i remember where 2 16mm singles coming out of an epoxy filled plastic IP type box.... Think they just rammed the two tail into the meter cable connections ....very quickly, ...to minimise the splashing and arching that went with it!! ...lol!!!

i remember them about 20 years ago, brings back memories!!!, i curiously got my hands on one and decided to open it up to see how it was made and it was basically a little cheap and nasty down convertor ac transformer wired up in reverse order nothing else.

Glanding. Who needs it?

And finally I think there's an urban myth going around that states if you chisel a big enough hole in the side of the fan housing you don't need a gland or a bush for the cable entry.

Oh, I've got enough pictures like this to post at least ten each day for the next week :) I had a clean-up of my pictures drive the other day so I pulled a few gems for you're perusal and enjoyment.

This 'installation' is exactly as it was. No covers were removed before the photo was taken.
