This is probably going to be a really silly question but I need to know just for my own peace of mind.
I have a hot tub, an intex inflatable job. The power cable goes into an rcd then into a normal plug which is plugged into a normal house socket, (well away from the water I might add.) When I changed the plug it has no earth wire just the brown and blue. The tub has come from a friend and it's the original cable. Is this right? It is all plugged in and up and running but I don't want to get in it if it's unsafe in any way.
I realise I probably sound like a complete noob, it's because I am! I just thought it should have the earth wire or is that what the rcd is for? My friend says his tub is the same.
Appreciate any help at all! Cheers folks.

It does indeed have the square within the square. Thanks for the advice. Does this mean it's safe to use?
it should be fine. double insulated appliances don't require earthing as there are no exposed metal parts. the RCD operates on an imbalance between L and N, so will work without any earth on the appliance.

Is it safe to use? depends has it been maintained and installed correctly? has it been subjected to any tests (ISITEE) In Service Inspection and testing of Electrical Equipment you might know it as Portable Appliance testing (PAT)
